Eric Bess is the owner and operator of St. Louis-based Flying Tiger Motorcycles, a sales, repair, and service shop that also does custom builds. Before opening Flying Tiger in 2010 with his wife, Theresa, he worked for Kawasaki as a demo ride leader and held tech-services and quality-assurance positions.
Bess’ passion for vintage Japanese motorcycles is evident in his unique custom builds — and his expertise and eye for detail are unmatched. 2017 marks Bess’ first year building for Rebels Uncaged, Rebel Yell’s custom motorcycle contest.
Flying Tiger’s build for this year is a 2005 Kawasaki ZRX 1200 named Milo. It’s a modern sport bike that retains a classic cafe brat look. The flyscreen and undertail may look familiar – they were made from genuine Rebel Yell whiskey barrels.[one]
